The City of Henderson has a policy to take affirmative action to employ and advance handicapped individuals and veterans in order to utilize qualified handicapped workers, disabled veterans, and Vietnam era veterans to their full potential within the city workplace without discrimination in any aspect of the employment process.

The Human Resources (HR) director serves as the affirmative action officer for handicapped individuals, disabled veterans, and Vietnam era veterans and HR is responsible for developing programs and internal and external communications regarding affirmative action for these protected classes.
