HENDERSON, Ky. -- The Preston Arts Center will be hosting a series of new events in the month of May. All of the events are great for families.
Festival Henderson will highlight Latino culture and heritage. Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be a health fair in the Scott Foyer of the Preston Arts Center. Blood pressure readings, diabetes screenings will be joined by representatives from local dentists and pediatrics.
At noon, the Ballet Folklorica from Indianapolis will present a two hour program of traditional folk songs and dances from Mexico. There will be food trucks from local Mexican restaurants as well. May 12 will be Touch A Truck from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event brings vehicles from multiple work sectors like farming, construction, excavation and more for children to get up and close to. Food trucks will also be on site throughout the day. A helicopter will join the event at noon. A performance will take place on the Preston Center stage at 1 p.m. The Scott Foyer will be filled with vendors of all kinds, storytelling and face painting. Admission is $5.
May 26 at 7 p.m. will be a Memorial Day concert by the 100th Army Band from Fort Campbell. The renowned military band will give a rousing patriotic concert. This event is sponsored in part by Independence Bank and the Sandy Lee Watkins Songfest. This event is free and open to the public. Reserve a ticket at Eventbright.com or call 270-831-9800.
