HENDERSON, Ky. – Letters to Santa Claus dropped off at the mailbox in Central Park’s Christmas in the Park display will receive a reply this year providing a return address is provided.
The deadline for delivering letters in order for them to be answered is Friday, Dec. 15.
Santa’s mailbox is located in a small post office structure near Santa’s house.
The 32nd-annual Christmas in the Park celebration in downtown Henderson’s historic Central Park was officially opened on Friday at a ceremonial lighting of the 67-foot community Christmas.
There are more than 15,000 lights in the display and the popular cutouts will remain through December.
Christmas in the Park is presented by the City of Henderson in partnership with the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club. It features more than 30 displays, many of which are interactive.
Popular displays include the Santa Express train, Santa’s Sled, the North Pole Fire Truck, the Castle and the Holiday School Bus. T
Central Park is adjacent to the Henderson County Courthouse in downtown Henderson. The park has ample on-street parking. The park terrain is flat making it friendly for strollers and wheelchairs.
Santa will return to his house for visits with children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
