HENDERSON, Ky. -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane and controlled by a traffic signal on the U.S. 60 bridge over the Green River in the Henderson County community of Spottsville.
These changes will allow the weight limit to be increased from 8 to 18 tons but restrict vehicles wider than 10 feet from crossing.
Crews with the Department of Highways District 2 office will restrict traffic to a 10-foot lane in the middle of roadway across the length of the bridge in order to keep vehicles from encroaching on and further damaging areas of the structure in need of repair.
A temporary traffic signal, that will only allow travel in one direction at a time, will be installed. The speed limit will also be reduced to 35 miles per hour.
The lane reduction, width restriction, weight limit, traffic signal and speed limit will all be in place until bridge repairs are complete.
