HENDERSON, Ky. -- Henderson Emergency Management has a new emergency notification system that is now live.
Called Hyper-Reach, the system is a direct replacement of Code-Red, the previous notification system. The system went live on July 1, and HEMA has already distributed a few weather alerts on the system.
Henderson Water Utility also has been using Hyper-Reach to let customers know about water service interruptions and issues.
The system has the potential to alert the community about other types of emergency situations as well.
Mobile phone numbers did not transfer to the new system, so if you had your cell phone signed up with the Code-Red service, please re-register your phone number with Hyper-REach.
You can sign up by visiting hendersonema.org or by visiting cityofhendersonky.org and following the links for signing up for Hyper-Reach.
HEMA will also use the new system to broadcast alerts to Facebook and Twitter so you might also want to "like" their social media pages.
Please share the information about Hyper-Reach with friends and family and help them get their contact information up to date to give them the best opportunity to be informed in case of emergency.
