HENDERSON, Ky. -- Two emergency warning sirens on the city’s system are malfunctioning because of a communications issue that is known and is being worked on, according to Henderson Fire Chief Scott Foreman.
The sirens are located near Community Park and near Barret Boulevard/U.S. 60-East.
“They are in overlapping areas so all residents in that location should still be able to hear a siren between the city sirens and the county sirens,” Foreman said. “They just may not hear it as loudly as usual.”
Sirens were tested on Wednesday, March 15, to work on their functionality. The City is also in the process of purchasing two new sirens to replace older units.
