HPD starting new session of Citizen's Academy on Aug. 21


HENDERSON, Ky. -- The Henderson Police Department will be conducting the Fall 2018 Citizen's Academy beginning Aug. 21 at 6 p.m.

The nine-week course will be held each Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Henderson Police Department, 1990 Barret Court, Henderson, KY, 42420.  Informative, hands-on classes will include a tour of the department and 911 Center, basic patrol operations, mock traffic stops, crime scene processing/fingerprinting, investigations techniques, specialized units demonstrations, firearms safety, virtual training on a Firearms Training Simulator, and a tour of the Henderson County Detention Center.  There will also be a Saturday field trip to the Firing Range. A graduation dinner and discussion will be held on the final night.
